This role is in the Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) organization. RCES Cast Members work on behalf of the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) designing, operating and maintaining RCID-owned utility systems across the Walt Disney World Resort. This SCADA Specialist is a salaried cast member with broad technical capabilities and responsibilities related to the Energy Management System and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Control System for Plant Control.
The SCADA Specialist reports to the Network Services Engineer and is a part of a diverse and dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hardware and software design, programming, configuration and near-continuous upgrades of the system.
  • Develop, implement and maintain near-real-time and historical data access to end-users.
  • Maintain a security model for the ICS system utilizing OpenVPN, VLAN and CA certificate security models.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of web services and virtual services for the environment
  • Must work closely with Operations and maintenance personnel on a daily basis and respond to their urgent needs.
  • Maintain documentation for change management and develop standard operating guidelines.


Basic Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for communication and customer care.
  • Basic scripting, database management, and server administration skills.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network and experience of setting up network equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls.
  • In-depth understanding of energy systems such as chilled water, hot water, compressed air, HVAC and Lighting System Controls.
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Must be available to work outside normal work hours in response to job demand, equipment availability, and system/equipment emergencies.
  • Ability to work in a variety of locations including field environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a system owner using the Carrier i-Vu Building Automation
  • Programming for Building Automation Systems and creation of graphical user interfaces (GUI)
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing open systems protocols including BACnet and Modbus
  • Experience with utility SCADA systems, PLC's, Ladder Logic
  • Experience with utility Plant-Wide Control Systems

Required Education

  • Associate's degree in an technical discipline or equivalent experience
